LIbrary

Last week we went to storytime at the library. The lady read to the kids and they got to dance in a circle and play with instruments. I thought this would be a great, fun thing for Blake to do on Wednesdays. Well, once we got there I realized how extremely clique-y all the women there are. The ones who already knew each other only socialized with themselves and didn't even try to include anyone else. It was so middle school-ish. I was happy to have Blake there so that at least I wasn't sitting there alone.

Sheldon's thoughts- "Oh, just go sit by them and start talking to them about their kids." Apparently he has never been around a clique of women before.

Anyway, we are planning on going again this week and hopefully we can meet some other people who are new and we can be friendly, and then we will be friendly to other new people next time.

The good news is that Blake really did like the music and dancing around. Which reminds me, we are starting a music class this weekend at the university prep music school. Should be fun- I'll give you the update later.

I know EXACTLY what you mean! Women in cliques can be frightening. My son wasn't all that enthused with storytime when we went, so I just gave up.

(I found your blog while randomly searching for people and stuff to do in Abq, and thought I'd say hi!)

That sucks. That's exactly what I'm afraid of with stuff like that. Luckily, I'm already sort of used to that with the small town girls that I see sometimes.

Stick with it though! You never know, someday you might show up and blam! You no longer feel like the oddball.

Yea, thats why I read & dance at home! ha!
The good news- the UNM Classes arent too so much like that, people are friendly, for the most part. B
