We had a nice trip to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. The plane ride out there was pretty good, although just as they were about to shut the plane door, we smelled something bad. You guessed it, dirty diaper. So Sheldon and I looked at each other and had about 2 seconds to decide what we were going to do. So, I grabbed Blake and his diaper changing pad and ran off the plane and plopped him down right on the walkway ramp thing that goes to the plane. I changed him as fast as I possibly could and left the diaper outside the plane. I had to....the plane only holds 67 people and is very small. Who wants to smell that the whole time? We made it back on the plane just in time. I did lose the changing pad though. I'm not sure if I left it outside the plane or if in the shuffle to get off the plane I dropped it or left it under the seat. Oh well, it was dirty from the floor of the jetway anyway. :)
Our 5 day trip was nice. We got to see all of Sheldon's family and they got to meet Blake. He was pretty cranky most of the time, though, because he was totally out of his routine and the kid is a big homebody and really does much, much better with his own stuff.
As we were coming home on the plane Monday, Blake was one of those kids how I used to loathe on airplanes- you know, the kid who squeals and cries. Yep, that kid. But we made it home and then realized that he has a new tooth! That's why he was so upset. We bought some homeopathic teething tabs that you put in his mouth and now he's great. It's very cute. I'll try to get a picture of the little tooth for the next blog.
A fun way to catch up with the always interesting and mostly funny things that happen to me on a daily basis. And a great way to see recent pictures of the kids.

Portrait studio

A friend of mine turned me on to this portrait studio here in town that, from time to time, offers a HUGE portrait package for $9.95. Well, last time I went I spent significantly more than $9.95. I will not say how much more, but it was much more than $10. So today we went for the 6 month photos and spent.....significantly more again. You thought I was going to say $10, right? You hoped I was going to say $10. So did Sheldon.
Anyway, I guess they must send their photographers to sales school as well as photo school because those people can sell you a ton of pictures. I learned my lesson last time and told my self "I will not get sucked in today." wrong. I guess they know exactly what to say to new mothers to get them to feel like they have to buy so many pictures. So, I guess you can say I got sucked in again. Next time, JC Penney and hopefully they will all be bad except one.
Enjoy the pics! Oh, these aren't the ones we purchased, but when you spend enough, you get the CD too. :)

Book Club
Last night was the first meeting of a new book club I have joined. The book we read was called Twentieth Wife. It was about this young girl who grew up in India (16th century) dreaming of marrying the prince who eventually became emperor. Eventually they got married- she was his....twentieth wife. I didn't really love the book, but I did manage to read the whole thing. But, the book club was full of really nice ladies. All are about 30-35 y.o. and everyone is married and most of them have young children. We had a great time discussing the book and then had fun talking about day to day life. I am excited to read next month's book- Atonement. We are going to discuss the book and then take a child-free afternoon and go see the movie (it's coming out in December). Should be fun.
Since some of you are reading this blog just for the pics of Blake, here are the most recent. I don't know.... I really think he looks like me! just kidding. If he had glasses, he'd be Sheldon's twin. enjoy

It's been a LONG time.
Ok, Ok, so I know it has been a very, very, very long time since I posted a blog entry. Well, as you know, I had a baby, Blake Dannie Sebastian on May 22, 2007. He was 6 weeks early and still weighed in at 6lbs and was 20" long. He would have been huge at full term.
I had a few health issues and so did he, but are both fine now.
So, now I will try to blog much more often, like a couple times each week. I'll also try to post some pictures too that way you don't have to open them on your email.
Thanks for waiting!
