State Fair

I took Blake to the NM State Fair last week. We went Thursday with a friend of ours who has a little boy Blake's age. Blake LOVED the petting zoo. There was a yak, brahma, pony, cow and of course goats. There were a few goats that weren't in the pen and were just laying out on the hay. Blake had a ball pushing their fat tummies over and over and over. They really are squishy (like santa's tummy). I was going to buy him the food to feed them, but he saw someone else's and tried to eat it himself, so I decided against purchasing it.

He also had a good time on the tractors. They had these small tractors that are operated like bicycles, although he couldn't reach the pedals. I got a few cute pictures of him on the tractor.

And then I made the mistake of showing him a light-up toy in the exhibit hall where they sell all the junk. He used to have one of these toys that my friend affectionately called "baby crack," because her son had one too and could never put it down and would get upset when it was taken away. I figured Blake could handle it. wrong. I let him hold it, which was my first mistake and ...... yep, you guessed it, we ended up having to buy it. He dropped it only about 5 minutes later and yes, it broke. $7 down the drain. I think I learned my lesson though.
