Today's the day

Today I feel both good and bad. Mostly good because I'm not too tired and I am teaching again after a long winter break. Bad because today was the day. A few weeks ago a friend of mine who has had children told me to expect this day. She said it will just hit you one day- you will go to your closet and NOTHING will fit (even the stuff that fit yesterday will not fit). And she also mentioned that it will be pretty upsetting and make you feel bad. Well, today was the day.

I have been wearing my old jeans and pants and just keeping the top button undone but other than that, they fit. I even bought this thing called a bella band- it's supposed to be the greatest thing, because you can wear your old pants and leave them unbuttoned and unzipped and this thing goes over the top and then no one can tell your pants are undone. What they fail to mention when you buy this thing is that your butt and thighs will probably grow much faster than your stomach and then you really don't have to worry about buttoning them because they won't even make it that far!

So, I found two pairs of maternity jeans- one I got for Christmas and one I bought on ebay. They are actually the greatest things ever invented! No buttons, no zippers, nothing. Nothing except a great big piece of dark blue elastic on the top, which of course is no where near the color of the faded denim pants. whatever. Anyway, I love these things. And today I went to Target a bought a few tops that are long and I can still say I am wearing clothes from the juniors dept. Well, two of them are maternity and two are juniors. But, the good news is that I actually have clothes that fit now.
